Snack Review: Annie’s Chocolate Bunny Grahams

Annie's Bunny Grahams

When grappling with major life decisions, I want comfort food. Starch, chocolate, gravy, whole chickens – they are my saviors in times of personal crisis.

And, although anti-terrorism specialists and cancer patients might argue that entering one’s senior year in college is hardly earth-shattering, I beg to differ. Senior year is cause for MAJOR concern, people. There are 2 semesters, two measly semesters, between me and the real world (which totally exists, despite John Mayer’s insistence to the contrary).

This world expects me to change it; to make it better, faster, stronger, fairer. Or, at the very least, not to mess it up more than it already is. That’s a lot to ask, don’t you think?

Which is why I’ve retreated to the safe, chocolaty arms of Annie’s Bunny Grahams. Because if I’ve learned one thing during the past 3 years, it’s this: society can make me act like a grown-up, but it sure can’t make me eat like one.

First, the packaging. I swear to God, it’s physically impossible to look at a box of Bunny Grahams and not want to hug someone. The front features a herd of chocolate bunnies stampeding into the distance, and a drawing of a rabbit who looks like he hopped out of an Edward Gorey book. Your inner child will love it.

The snacks themselves are similarly adorable. If I were to rank animal-shaped cookies on their cuteness, it would go 1) Bunny Grahams, 2) Teddy Grahams, 3) Animal Crackers. Coincidentally, this is also how they rank in terms of crunchiness, since Bunny Grahams are way crispier than their competition. As for taste, these rabbits don’t disappoint. In fact, I had to double check the ingredients to see if they were made with dark cocoa (they’re not… which I guess means they’re magic?).

Perhaps most importantly, however, is the fact that Annie’s Bunny Grahams possess that intangible, comforting quality. Halfway though a box, I didn’t feel as though the rest of my life hinged on getting into a good seminar, or scoring a glowing recommendation from a professor. Instead, I felt relaxed and soothed; ready, at least for the moment, to stop worrying and trust that the future will work itself out.

Man, forget religion and drugs. College students in need of an opiate should look no further than Annie’s Bunny Grahams.

I totally second this review, they are definitely adorable and comforting
is the right word too.

I suppose it would totally spoil the effect of that comment to mention
that I brought these in to share with my reptile keeper friends because
we are amused to eat rabbits, like our crocs and giant snakes do.

Allissa, I want to give you a great big gigantic enormous hug, because the real world does, in fact, suck. Wait, I guess that wasn’t very encouraging. Don’t worry I’m sure you won’t mess the world up any more than it already is, and if you do just blame it on the dog. That’s what I do!

I enjoyed reading about Annie’s Chocolate Bunny Grahams, but I think I’d almost feel guilty eating them. They are so cute! Just look at them all together in there - snug and safe in their box.

What an adorable review. I can definitely relate to the feeling of the
world falling on top of you, so sometimes the right kind of comfort food
makes all the difference in the world. I actually found a store literally
blocks away from me that has these, so I’m going to pick them up on pay day. <3
