Snack Review: Luna Bar Nutz Over Chocolate
I decided to try out a Luna Bar because I’ve heard so many people talking about them. They advertise these bars as “The Whole Nutrition Bar for Women,” and I’m a woman, so I thought I’d give it a try.
The bar that I tried was Luna: Nutz Over Chocolate.
The packaging is pretty. It shows three women in various exercise or yoga poses while standing behind a light blue background of the moon. But enough with the looks, let’s get into the product.
Once again, as usual with nutrition bars, the smell of it wasn’t that appealing. But then again, it’s not like I’m eating a warm plate of cinnamon rolls fresh from the oven. Although that sounds pretty good right about now.
The bar had a Rice Krispy looking top with a layer of chocolate on the bottom. In terms of flavor, it wasn’t bad like most I’ve tried, but the chocolate is definitely the only good thing about it. I’m all about aftertastes, and this bar didn’t have a bad aftertaste. In fact, it was like everything blended together in my mouth after the fact, which made me realize that I liked this bar when I was done eating it. Pretty strange?
The main ingredient in this bar is soy rice crisp. Because it is a rice crisp, the texture is similar to that of a Rice Krispy treat and that’s what it kind of tastes like: a bland version of the Rice Krispy treat. The bar is called Nutz Over Chocolate, but I didn’t see any nuts in it. So if they are there, they must be pretty small.
I still haven’t figured out why these bars are marketed just for women though. Would a man who eats one become more feminine? Hmm… that might be something to consider.

I like these, especially the smore’s version. I actually did offer one to my husband while on a road trip and he refused because of the wrapper saying they’re for women. I said “what do you think is going to happen?” but he was just not interested in finding out.
