Snack Review: Golden Grahams Treats Chocolate Marshmallow

When I was a kid, golden Grahams was my favorite cereal. Whenever I saw that my Mom had taken a trip to the grocery store and gotten this delicious cereal, it made my day and all I could think about was having breakfast the next morning. Okay, so I had an unnatural obsession with Golden Grahams. But they were good!
So when I saw that a new Golden Grahams bar had come out, I was excited, but quickly became skeptical. I didn’t know how chocolate and marshmallows would be with my favorite cereal. I didn’t want these other ingredients to change my mind about one of my best childhood memories!
But, I quickly got over it and decided to rip open the packaging and dive in. The bar I tried was Golden Grahams Chocolate Marshmallow. It had the same texture as a Rice Krispie treat, and was soft and could be broken apart easily.
The bar contained crushed Golden Grahams cereal mixed in marshmallows and topped with mini marshmallows and mini chocolate chips. The bottom of the bar had a chocolate coating. The bar was soft and chewy and not too sweet.
Overall, this bar was YUMMY. It had just enough of each ingredient and the bottom coating mixed in well with the other bar. It wasn’t overly chocolaty or sticky, like some bars can be. I’d have to say that whatever genius invented this bar did an excellent job, as it may be the perfect snack to satisfy your cereal craving AND sweet tooth.
I’d definitely recommend this bar to any of you that have the chance to try it out. Make some tasty grownup memories to complement your childhood ones!

General Mills actually had a version of these bars in the 90s. If my memory serves me correctly, they had two flavors: “chocolate chunk” and “s’mores.” They were definitely a childhood favorite
of mine. I haven’t tried this new version of “chocolate marshmallow,” but I did recently pick up a new “chocolate peanut butter” one. I really wanted it to be as awesome as I remembered, but it just wasn’t. It was hard, dry, and too crunchy from the inclusion of
peanuts. In fact, I had to chew so hard that my mouth kind of hurt
when I was finished the bar. I thought the chocolate was a little too thick and the peanut
butter flavor just didn’t suit the taste of the cerel. All that
honey goodness was gone. It didn’t even taste like Golden Grahams. I’d definitely pass on the peanut butter one, but based on your review I might give the chocolate marshmallow version a shot.

Whoops…finished *with* the bar
I found this link to the old Golden Grahams treats commercial. I thought you might want to have a look. Any type of program or ad from the 90s is usually pretty entertaining nowadays. ![]()

I’m sure this bar tastes good, but it’s too bad it’s not actually good for our kids too. It’s loaded with ingredients that promote poor health, unfortunately. I’d leave it on the shelf if you’re interested in healthy, happy kids. Bummer.

My granddaughter was purchasing this bar at school and she was telling me that they are delicious! The only problem is that she’s just 5 years old and couldn’t remember the name, so today I gave her extra money and told her to buy an extra bar and bring it home. Now I know what it is, so now I just hope that I can find them at the store! She will be very disappointed if I can’t!

My son’s football team just had these and all the kids loved them.. I was so happy to find out Bj’s Wholesale club sold them. Sadly to my dismay after the past month of going in and searching I finally called. Bj’s has chosed to discontinue selling them. I dont know why as they were always low on stock when I was in there before my kids actually knew what they were. If enough people/members complain I was told they can bring a product back. So if you have Bj’s fill out a membership card and compain! Please.., thanks, I still cannot find them anywhere locally.. any stores would be great if anyone may know of them

I haven’t been able to find these bars either. My SIL brought some in for Christmas and we became addicted to them, they are so good. He has not been able to get any more, either. General Mills was no help when I contacted them.

They’re very hard to find. Sam’s Club and Costco had them for a while. General Mills will not be able to help you. I’ve been up the chain of command with them.
I finally found help with the Foodservice Sales rep for the west coast. She informed me that they no longer make the small bars. They currently only make the King Size bars, and are not for retail sale. They sell them to convenience stores, wholesalers, etc. They come in a 12 pack box of 2.1 ounce bars (they’re huge). The sales person I spoke with told me which wholesalers had them, so I was prepared to purchase them there (with my buddy’s business license); when strangely enough I found them at 7-11. Its an item that is in their inventory list and they are able to order them if they dont currently carry them. Try asking them! Or, and this is the worst case scenario, you could order them from a vending machine supply company online and pay a ridiculous 20 bucks for a box of 12, not to mention whatever they charge for shipping! Good luck!
