Snack Review: Gatorade Peanut Butter Nutrition Bar
I’m a person who’s always on a diet. Well, I try to be on one. That’s why I have no problem always eating these diet bars that people claim taste so bad. For me, I’ve been eating them for so long that they taste pretty good.
I decided to go a different route and try one of these energy bars that everyone is talking about; the Gatorade Nutrition Bar. The one I decided to try was peanut butter flavored.
I’m not really big into energy bars, because I’ve seen some of them and can’t understand why anyone would put that in their stomach, but then again, people probably think the same of me when I eat a diet bar.
When I first opened the package, I noticed that the bar looked like a perfect rectangular brick. Everything was compact inside and it had a light color to it with peanut butter chips on top and oatmeal scattered around throughout the bar.
I decided to smell it and noticed that it smelled like cat food. However, the bar was soft and while eating it, I was surprised that it was chewy and thick. Usually when I think of energy or nutrition bars, I picture this hard piece of rock that’s supposed to substitute for a meal, but I have to say, the Gatorade nutrition bar looked like a regular breakfast bar to me.
“Scientifically formulated to help meet nutritional needs of athletes” is what is printed on the outside of the package. Come to think of it, I feel a little more energy after eating it. It’s like my fingers can’t stop typing!
Overall, I didn’t like this bar because it didn’t have a good taste and the aftertaste was even worse. I guess being a Gatorade product I was expecting something fun and fruity like their drinks, but was sadly disappointed. To me, this tastes like just another diet bar that may or may not give you an energy boost.
