Snack Review: Fiber One Bar Oats & Chocolate

I’ve always loved Fiber One products, especially their cereal. Like many other companies, Fiber One started coming out with lots of cool products, and I decided to try one of their bars.
For one, they are low in calories, have lots of fiber, and since many of their other products are so good, I figured these had to follow and be just as yummy as well.
While there are a few flavors of this bar on the market, I decided to try Oats and Chocolate. I definitely wasn’t disappointed. When I first opened the package, I noticed the size of the bar. While many ‘healthy’ bars usually taste good, they are often so tiny that it feels like I didn’t eat anything at all.
Not with this bar though. It was a good size, and also had chocolate drizzled on top, which is a big plus in my book. When looking at it, it looks like it has oats, chocolate chips and crisped rice all smashed together in bar form.
The texture was soft and chewy, which was a nice surprise because so many healthy bars tend to be hard and crunchy, but this was easy on the eyes and on the mouth.
As for the taste, all of the ingredients blend together nicely and the bar is not dry at all. If anything, it made my mouth water more as I was chewing it.
There is one drawback in my opinion. These bars are so good that they make you want to eat more, so I offer a word of warning: These bars will cause an upset stomach if you eat too many. I should know, I did it and my stomach suffered for it.
Overall, these bars are excellent. I’m glad they are finally starting to make healthy products out there that taste really good. I’d even say that an upset stomach is a small price to pay in enjoying these bars.
For a different variety, the other flavors are Oats & Peanut Butter, Oats & Caramel, Oats & Strawberry, Oats & Apple Streusel, and Chocolate Mocha.
Has anyone ever tried one? What did you think of them?

I recently tried the Chocolate Mocha, and liked them as much as the Oats and Chocolate.

I remember trying out the Oats & Peanut Butter a long time ago but didn’t like it as much as Oats & Chocolate. I’ll have to try some of these new ones that are out there.

Unable to find anything else for dinner, I ate an entire box of these in one sitting once. Tasty… but my stomach nearly flipped out soon afterwards. Don’t eat more than one at a time!

[...] Now, I was a little concerned about this, actually, when when I also read: “One bar deliciously provides almost 50% of the daily value of fiber.” I mean, these are pretty small. What if I forget and eat three? (And if you think my worries are silly, you might want to read Diana’s review of Fiber One Bars.) [...]

for a much cleaner (non-glyceriny) taste, I’ve just recently discovered Quaker’s version of a fiber bar:

no more fiber one bars for me, I thought i liked them at first but it didn’t take long before I just couldn’t stand them anymore.

I think the Chocolate & Oats are the best followed closely by Caramel (tastes like butterscotch more than caramel) and Peanut Butter. Fiber One is awesome!
