Snack Review: Chex Mix Chocolate Peanut Butter

Chex Mix Chocolate Peanut Butter

Everyone loves Chex Mix, right? It’s been around forever, what’s not to love about it? Especially that Chex Mix muddy buddies recipe you can make from the box… whoever invented that was a genius. Well, Chex Mix can only get better when you add chocolate and peanut butter to it.

I recently tried out Chex Mix Chocolate Peanut Butter. Well, I’ve tried it out more than once in the past few days. It’s found in grocery and convenience stores because I’ve always seen them around, but never picked one up.

When I first opened the bag, I spread out everything on my table. There was an assortment of chocolate- and peanut butter-covered Chex Mix, pretzels, candies, and nuts.

Now, I could have eaten each of these items separately, which I did at first, but I wanted to see how it tasted all mixed together in my mouth.

The mix was crunchy, and when eaten all together I could definitely taste the sweet and salty mixture. It was very good; I could taste the chocolate throughout, but the pretzels seemed to take all the fun out of it.

I thought there were too many pretzels and not enough Chex Mix or candy. The pretzels seemed to dry out the mix, taking away some of the chocolaty goodness.

When I reached into the bag to grab more, I noticed that my fingers passed right on over the pretzels in a search for something better, like more candy.

I’d have to say that this is very good, but would be even better if the pretzels were chocolate covered or peanut butter covered… hmm… maybe that’s an idea that should be suggested to them?

The best part of the whole thing was at the bottom of the bag. The candy pieces all fell to the bottom, so when I finally reached it, I was rewarded with bits of Chex Mix and candy… what a nice combination.

They also have a Chex Mix Chocolate Turtle, which I will definitely be trying in the near future.

The dark chocolate variety is good, too. And now they have Chex bars,
which are to die for (and only 3 weight watchers points!).

Oooh… the Turtle one is addictive. Still some of the same problem of
too many pretzels, but they’re easy to avoid :P

OMG!!! Thank you for this post. My gf was making fun of me for being too nitpicky over my chex mix, but a quick google search turned up a small community of my fellow chexmix lovers/pretzel haters.
